Mr. Dale L. Cheney, CFA, CPA, serves as President of Merchant Banking Division of Opus Bank. Mr. Cheney is a Managing Partner of Opus Equity Partners. He serves as the Investor Manager of Destination Pet Holdings, LLC. Mr. Cheney serves as Vice President and Secretary of Gulfco Holding Corp. He serves as the Senior Managing Director and Managing Partner at Opus Bank, Investment Arm. He served as Senior Managing Director of Private Equity Group at Opus Bank since February 2014 and served as its Senior Managing Director. Prior to joining Opus Bank and co-founding the Merchant Banking Division, he served as Investment Principal of Altus Capital Partners since May 21, 2012. He joined Altus Capital Partners on May 21, 2012. Mr. Cheney has over 15 years of experience in private equity and buyout investing and has executed over $5 billion of private equity transactions with a focus on consumer products, food and beverages, retail and specialty manufacturing. He served as Vice President and Principal of Court Square Capital Limited. He was a Senior Associate of GSC Group. Before joining Altus, he served as Vice President and Investment Principal/Principal at CitiCorp Venture Capital from 2007 to 2012. While at CVC, Mr. Cheney focused on sourcing, executing and managing control private equity investments. Mr. Cheney was also involved in raising capital and acquiring the CVC portfolio of companies from Citigroup, forming an independent successor fund. While an investment professional at Citicorp Venture Capital, he served as interim Chief Executive Officer of a distressed portfolio company where he successfully executed a turnaround of the business. Mr. Cheney began his career in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he focused on M&A and Leveraged Finance. Prior to Goldman, Mr. Cheney was a Senior Associate in the M&A Group of PricewaterhouseCoopers in New York where he focused on performing due diligence for private equity transactions. He was an Associate of Goldman, Sachs & Co. Investment Banking. He was an Investment Banking Associate of The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. He serves on the Board of Directors of Gulfco Holding Corp. Mr. Cheney is a Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder and a Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of the CFA Institute. He holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, 79 licenses. He received an M.B.A. degree from Harvard Business School and a B.S. degree in Finance and Accounting, cum laude, from Brigham Young University.
