Executive Bio

Mr. Paul E. Kacik has been Managing Director of Merchant Banking Division and Head of Healthcare Investment Banking for Merchant Banking Division at Opus Bank since November 2015. Mr. Kacik is a 24-year investment banking veteran, is responsible for providing M&A advisory services, debt and equity capital solutions and other strategic advisory services to healthcare providers and practitioners. He has over 20 years of investment banking, private equity and corporate finance experience and has acted in a lead advisory role on numerous domestic and cross-border healthcare mergers and acquisitions including recent transactions in the healthcare services, healthcare provider, managed care, medical products and pharmaceutical services industries. Mr. Kacik joined Opus Merchant Banking division from Duff & Phelps Securities, LLC in Los Angeles, where he served as Managing Director Healthcare Investment Banking and was responsible for the origination and execution of middle-market Healthcare M&A transactions. He served as a Managing Director and Head of Healthcare Investment Banking at McGladrey Capital Markets LLC, where he led the national healthcare investment banking practice and was responsible for the oversight of all origination and execution efforts in the healthcare sector. Mr. Kacik was a Senior Vice President Head of Healthcare Investment Banking at Barrington Associates, where he was responsible for originating and executing corporate finance transactions, including buy and sell-side M&A, equity and debt fundraising and private equity recapitalizations. Prior to that, he served as Investment Director at Technomark Medical Ventures. He was responsible for managing TMV's investment activities and monitoring TMV portfolio companies on behalf of Lloyds TSB Development Capital. Prior to establishing TMV with the other members of the team, Mr. Kacik was an Associate Director at BioCorp Securities Limited, Technomark's investment banking division. At BioCorp Securities, he specialized in advising emerging growth and middle-market life science companies on their mergers & acquisitions activities within Europe and the United States. He was employed at CITICORP LLC. His career included finance and investment banking roles at Citibank, Smith Barney and Solomon International. Mr. Kacik also gained experience in international acquisitions and investments at Solomon International LP, a holding company funded by private equity firm EM Warburg Pincus & Co. At Solomon, he took a lead role in its investment activities in Europe, Latin America and Asia. He started his investment banking career first at Citibank in London and then at Smith Barney in the United States. He serves as a Director at Proteom. He served as a Director of BioVex, Inc.; Amura Technologies Ltd. and Matrix Therapeutics Ltd. He serves as Board Member to a number of growing healthcare companies. He holds FINRA Series 17, 24 and 63 securities licenses. Mr. Kacik received a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Southern California and an M.B.A. from City University Business School in London.
