Ms. Catherine D. Alvarez-Smith has been Senior Vice President at PriceSmart Inc. since November 2011 and its International Controller since January 2004. Ms. Alvarez-Smith served as Vice President of PriceSmart since January 2004. Prior to joining PriceSmart, she was a Director of Finance for Hershey International in Weston, FL from November 1998 to December 2003; and the Director of Finance for Fleming Foods, Miami, FL from October 1993 to November 1998. Ms. Alvarez-Smith started her career with The Price Company in 1978 until 1993 holding various accounting/finance positions including Assistant Treasurer and Vice President-Finance of their subsidiary, Club Merchandising Inc. She graduated from San Diego State University in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
