Executive Bio
Mr. Jesus Von Chong has been Executive Vice President and Chief Merchandising Officer since September 2016 and was Executive Vice President of Foods Merchandising from November 2015 through August 2016. Mr. Von Chong served as Senior Vice President of Central and South America Merchandising at PriceSmart Inc. since March 2014. He served as Senior Vice President of Merchandising for Central America beginning in 2003, added Colombia to his responsibilities in March 2011 and the Caribbean Region in April 2015. Mr. Von Chong served as a Regional Merchandising Director for Panama, Costa Rica and Dominican Republic in the year 2000. He was first employed as a Buyer in PriceSmart's initial operations in Panama in 1996. Mr. Von Chong progressed to Head Buyer in 1998, Warehouse Manager for Via Brasil Operations in 1999 and to Panama's Country Manager in 2000. Mr. Von Chong has a degree in Marketing from Santa Maria La Antigua University (USMA).
