Mr. Mark S. Popofsky serves as Head of Antitrust Practice at Ropes & Gray LLP. Mr. Popofsky served as Partner of Ropes & Gray LLP. Mr. Popofsky served as Partner at Kaye Scholer LLP since 1999. Mr. Popofsky served as Counsel in United States v. Microsoft Corp., the Department's landmark monopolization suit. Mr. Popofsky practices in Antitrust, Appellate, Intellectual Property, and various Technology groups. As Chair of the Technology & Competition Practice Group, he represents clients in antitrust, intellectual property, and commercial litigation, counsels clients concerning a variety of competition-related matters, and represents parties in mergers and other transactions before the U.S. Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission. Mr. Popofsky's appellate practice includes matters before the U.S. Supreme Court and federal courts of appeals. Mr. Popofsky served as Senior Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General in charge of the U.S. Department of Justice's Antitrust Division. Mr. Popofsky is an Adjunct Professor at the Georgetown University Law Center, where for several years he has taught the Advanced Antitrust Law and Economics Seminar. He serves as Member of the Law and Ethics Advisory Board at Midi Inc. He is a frequent speaker and panelist on competition-related issues. His areas of Experience includes: Antitrust and Trade Regulation, E-Commerce, Intellectual Property, International Internet Law, Mergers and Acquisitions. He is Executive Editor of Harvard Law Review. He is a Law Clerk to Judge Dorothy W. Nelson, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Mr. Popofsky holds A.B., magna cum laude from Brown University in 1990 (Phi Beta Kappa) and also holds J.D., magna cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1993.
