Executive Bio
Mr. Thomas B. Draper is a Partner at Ropes & Gray. Tom is the co-chair of the firm's Debt Financing practice group. He represents banks and borrowers in large syndicated debt financings, often in leveraged acquisitions, and represents lenders and issuers in mezzanine and subordinated debt transactions. Tom also advises funds and other debt purchasers on their market purchasers of indebtedness. In addition, Tom works with venture capitalists in investments in startup and middle-market companies, and counsels technology and start-up clients. For the past five years Tom has been teaching a Commercial Lending course at Boston University Law School. He has chaired numerous continuing legal education panels on financing topics and is a frequent speaker at client and professional association seminars on debt transactions. Tom, a partner since 1989, is a 1979 graduate of the University of Texas School of Law, and a 1975 graduate of Yale. He was a law clerk for Judge Homer Thornberry on the US Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
