Harri U. Kulovaara — Executive Vice President of Maritime at Royal Caribbean International

Mr. Harri U. Kulovaara is the Executive Vice President of Maritime at Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. and Royal Caribbean International, Ltd. since January 1, 2005. Mr. Kulovaara is responsible for fleet design and newbuild operations for Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises. He also oversees Royal Caribbean safety and environment department. He also leads all new-building activity and direct all safety, environment and security functions for both cruise brands. He served as Senior Vice President of Fleet Operations for Royal Caribbean International at Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. He has been employed with Royal Caribbean since 1995 in a variety of positions, including Senior Vice President of Marine Operations since 1997 and Senior Vice President of Quality Assurance. Prior to joining Royal Caribbean in 1995, he served as an Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Oy Silja Line AB, a leading cruise ferry operator based in Finland. He also was named executive vice president for Silja Line's parent company, Effjohn Oy Ab. He serves as Chairman Maritime Safety Advisory Board of Royal Caribbean Cruises. He is a naval architect, MSCC Engineer, who graduated from the Technical University of Helsinki in Finland.
