Mr. Ivan C. Smith has been an Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company (???Scotts Miracle???) since July 11, 2013 and also has been its Chief Compliance Officer since October 31, 2013. Mr. Smith has overall leadership responsibility for The Scotts Miracle's global legal function and activities. Prior to July 2013, he served as Vice President of Global Consumer Legal and Assistant General Counsel at Scotts Miracle since October 2011. Mr. Smith provided valuable counsel and direction to the Scotts' legal efforts for the Global Consumer segment. He served as Vice President of North America Legal and Assistant General Counsel at Scotts LLC from April 2009 to September 2011 and also served as its Vice president of Litigation from October 2007 to March 2009. He joined Scotts Miracle in 2003 as Associate General Counsel and Director of Litigation. Prior to joining Scotts, he was a litigator with the international law firm Jones Day. Mr. Smith received a Bachelor's Degree from Miami University and received his Juris Doctorate degree from The Ohio State University.
