Mark D. Hopson — Managing Partner of Washington at Sidley Austin LLP

Mr. Mark D. Hopson has been the Managing Partner of Washington at Sidley Austin LLP since May 14, 2012. Mr. Hopson is a Partner at Sidley Austin Brown & Wood. His practice involves complex civil and white collar criminal litigation matters, including grand jury, trial and appellate matters. He has participated in jury trials and other contested proceedings in a number of federal and state courts and argued cases before many of the federal courts of appeals. He served as Partner of Sidley Austin LLP until May 14, 2012. Mr. Hopson also has experience in the representation of corporate clients and individuals in other proceedings, including agency investigations, inspector general investigations, and congressional investigations, involving issues of environmental and health care regulation, antitrust violations, and financial and tax fraud. He has substantial expertise in representation of clients in internal investigations and audits involving regulatory compliance and related enforcement issues and in the development, implementation and audit of corporate compliance programs. He completed JD, summa cum laude, from Georgetown University in 1994 and BA, cum laude, from Stetson University in 1980.
