Robert J. Rothschild has been a Senior Vice President, Commercial Real Estate Lending of Signature Bank. since July 13, 2005. Mr. Rothschild is village trustee for the Village of Garden City. Most recently, Mr. Rothschild was Vice President-Group Head, Long Island Regional Real Estate Lending for the Bank of New York, based out of its Garden City location. In this position, Rothschild had been responsible for overseeing all the bank's real estate lending efforts across Nassau and Suffolk counties, a role he held for 13 years. Previously, Rothschild spent more than five years at Dollar Dry Dock Savings Bank, working from its main office in White Plains, N.Y. During his tenure there, he held a range of real estate-related banking and finance positions, the latest being senior vice president commercial real estate lending. Mr. Rothschild also was employed at Manufacturer's Hanover Trust for about 12 years at its world headquarters in New York City. As Vice President and Team Leader in the real estate lending area, he headed lending efforts for several different geographic areas throughout the country, including the western U.S., the eastern U.S. and the metropolitan-New York area. Mr. Rothschild's wide-ranging real estate lending career began with Chase Manhattan Bank, where he managed the commercial loan portfolio and real estate mortgage investment portfolio of the Chase Trust Department.Mr. Rothschild resides in Garden City, Long Island, N.Y., with his wife and two children. Mr. Rothschild earned his bachelor of science degree in business management and a master's in business administration from St. John's University in Flushing, N.Y.
