Bobby S. Ram — Managing Director of Specialty Products at SunPower Corporation

Mr. Bobby S. Ram serves as Managing Director of Specialty Products Division of Sunpower Corporation, which designs, manufactures and markets high performance products serving the Opto-electronic and medical instrumentation markets. Mr. Ram is a Industry veteran, he joined SunPower in 1993 as a manufacturing manager tasked with transforming Sunpower Corporation from an R&D operation into a commercial company. During his tenure at SunPower, he introduced the Opto-electronic product line; positioned it as a leader in the high-speed infra-red detector market; and successfully launched the A-300- the industry's most-efficient, lowest-cost silicon solar cell. As managing director, he oversees all aspects of SunPower's specialty products division including, research and development, product engineering, sales, marketing, customer service, and manufacturing operations. His leadership had led to continued growth and profitability of our Opto-electronic product lines delivering some of the industry's highest performance photo detectors for applications in medical imaging (CT Scanners), Infra-red transceivers (cell-phones, PDA's, laptops) and microchips for artificial retinal implants. He has over 20 years of management experience in the semiconductor industry. He has held management positions at National Semiconductor, Advanced Micro devices and Cypress Semiconductor, where he served 5 years as production manager prior to joining SunPower in 1993.
