Joseph L. Farmer — Senior VP, General Counsel & Secretary at TESARO

Mr. Joseph L. Farmer has been Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary at Tesaro, Inc. since March 2015. Mr. Farmer is specialist in corporate and securities law and was Senior Associate/Attorney in the business practice group of Testa, Hurwitz and Thibeault, LLP in Boston from September 1997 to February 2005. He has an extensive experience counseling companies on general corporate law matters and complex financing transactions, including public offerings and private placements of debt and equity securities, mergers and acquisitions, securities law compliance and corporate governance. He also has expertise in the area of technology protection and transfer including licensing and joint venture transactions. He served as General Counsel and Secretary of Pegasystems Inc. Mr. Farmer served as the Chief Administrative Officer of AMAG Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since December 2011 and served as its Secretary since 2007. He served as Vice President of Legal Affairs, Assistant Secretary and General Counsel of AMAG Pharmaceuticals Inc., since February 2005. He served as Senior Vice President of Legal Affairs at AMAG Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Formerly Advanced Magnetics Inc.). Mr. Farmer received his BA in Economics, magna cum laude from Boston University and his JD, cum laude from Boston College School of Law.
