Avi Strum Ph.D. — Senior Vice President and General Manager of CMOS Image Sensor Business Unit at Tower Semiconductor Ltd.

Dr. Avi Strum, Ph.D., has been a General Manager of CMOS Image Sensor Business Unit at Jazz Technologies, Inc. since 2005 and has been its Senior Vice President since March 9, 2016. Dr. Strum has been Senior Vice President of CMOS Image Sensor Business Unit at Jazz Technologies, Inc., since April 12, 2016. Dr. Strum has been a Senior Vice President at Tower Semiconductor Ltd. since March 9, 2016 and has been its General Manager of CMOS Image Sensor Business Unit since 2005. He served as Vice President of Sales for Europe at Jazz Technologies, Inc. since June 2012 until April 12, 2016. Dr. Strum co-founded and served as the President at Samsung Semiconductor Israel R&D Center Ltd. He served as Vice President and General Manager of the Specialty Business Unit at Tower Semiconductor Ltd. since September 2008. He joined Tower in 2004 and served as General Manager of Tower's design center in Netanya and Device and Integration Department Manager. In 2005, he served as General Manager of the CMOS sensor and non-volatile memory (NVM) BU at Tower. He founded Transchip Inc. and served as its Chief Operating Officer and President. Dr. Strum spent five years from 1996 to 2000 at Intel Corporation as the Failure Analysis and Debug Lab manager for the Microprocessor Group. He relocated to Santa Clara, CA, to work on the Merced microprocessor quality and reliability and eventually returned to Israel as the Q&R manager for the Microprocessor Group at Intel. He serves as a Director of ClassifEye Ltd. He served as Director of Samsung Semiconductor Israel R&D Center Ltd. and Transchip Inc. Dr. Strum received his Ph.D. and B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology in 1990 and 1985 respectively.
