David M. Kohlenberg — Vice President of Law, Corporate Development and Energy at TransCanada Corporation

Mr. David M. Kohlenberg has been a Vice President of Law, Corporate Development and Energy at TransCanada Corporation since March 2014. Mr. Kohlenberg served as a Deputy General Counsel of Corporate Development and Finance Law at TransCanada Corp from 2006 to 2014. Since joining TransCanada in 1994, Mr. Kohlenberg has held positions of increasing responsibility in a broad range of business areas including pipeline regulatory, corporate development, midstream, international, power and finance. Prior to 2006, when he assumed his current role, he was Vice President, Power Law.Prior to joining TransCanada, Mr. Kohlenberg practiced law at the Calgary offices of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (then known as Howard Mackie) where he focused on corporate/commercial, energy and insolvency matters. He articled at Howard Mackie in 1987 and continued his practice at that firm until leaving as a senior associate in 1994 to work for TransCanada. He serves as a Director of Bruce Power, L.P. He was called to the bar in the Province of Alberta and is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Calgary Bar Association and the Energy Bar Association. He has lectured at Bar Admission courses in Alberta and at numerous seminars on various corporate and commercial law issues. Mr. Kohlenberg holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Saskatchewan (Saskatoon) and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Alberta (Edmonton).
