Executive Bio

Mr. Chip Smith has been an Executive Vice President of Public Affairs and Policy at Twenty-First Century Fox, Inc. since October 16, 2016. Mr. Smith served as an Executive Vice President of Public Affairs of Twenty-First Century Fox, Inc. until October 16, 2016. Mr. Smith co-founded The Glover Park Group (GPG) in 2001 and served as its Chief Executive Officer, Partner, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer until May 2016. Mr. Smith helped GPG through a number of critical expansions, including its strategic partnership with Svoboda Collins Partners. He has worked in both the public and private sectors, providing communications and strategic services to a broad range of clients, including leading corporations, non-profits, industry associations and candidates for political office. He served as Deputy Campaign Manager for Vice President Al Gore's 2000 Presidential campaign. As a member of the senior strategic team, he designed, built and directed the campaign's day-to-day operations. From 1996 to 2000, he served as Chief of Staff of MCI and also served as its Executive Director of Strategy and Communications and Chief Executive Officer. There he directed external and internal communications and overall messaging to Wall Street, industry analysts, media, regulators, customers, shareholders and employees. Before joining MCI, he served as an Executive Vice President at Shrum, Devine & Donilon, Inc. There he helped conceive, produce and place media in nine winning U.S. Senate campaigns and seven winning U.S. Congressional campaigns. He began his career as a legislative assistant to Senator Wyche Fowler Jr. He received his BA with Distinction in American Studies from Colby College and his MBA from Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business.
