Executive Bio

Mr. Gary Newman has been the Chief Executive Officer of Fox Television Group at Fox Networks Group, Inc. since July 1, 2014. Mr. Newman serves as Co-President of Twentieth Century Fox Television Limited. He oversees Fox Television Group, which unites the broadcast network Fox Broadcasting Company (FBC) and the prolific studio 20th Century Fox Television (TCFTV). He co led TCFTV since 1999 and added FBC to his purview in 2014 in conjunction with the creation of Fox Television Group. He oversaw the studio's booming cable production units Fox 21'which produces Homeland and Sons, Rush, Legends, Salem, Witches of East End, Brickleberry and Tyrant-- and Fox Television Studios, which makes The Americans, The Killing, and White Collar, among others. He also oversaw the studio's enormously successful worldwide Fox Consumer Products division. He served as the Studio's Executive Vice President and top ranking business officer. He was instrumental in building TCFTV into an industry leader both domestically and abroad. Prior to his tenure at TCFTV, he served for six years as an Executive in the Business Affairs department of NBC, where he served as Manager to Vice President, and worked for the Legal department of Columbia Pictures Television. He was an associate with Lillick, McHose & Charles. He began his career as an Attorney. He has been Chairman of Fox Television Group since July 01, 2014. Mr. Newman has been Co-Chairman at Twentieth Century Fox Television Limited since July 2007 and serves as its Director. He serves as the Chairman of Fox Television Group at Fox Networks Group, Inc. He serves on the boards of the Hollywood Radio & Television Society, Chrysalis, and the Jewish Television Network. He was inducted into Broadcasting & Cable's Television Hall of Fame, were named 2013's 'Showman of the Year' by Variety and 2011's Television Showman of the Year by the Publicists of the International Cinematographers Guild, and has been honored by UCLA's Jonsson Cancer Center, the Los Angeles Free Clinic and the Legal Aid Society. He is a member of the Los Angeles Board of Governors of the Paley Center for Media. He received his J.D. from USC Law Center and his B.A. from Yale University.
