Albert Riggieri — Chief Actuary and Senior Vice President at Unum Group

Mr. Albert Riggieri, also known as Al, has been Senior Vice President of Corporate Actuary at Aflac Incorporated since December 2016. Mr. Riggieri joined Aflac in December 2016 and is responsible for corporate actuarial support in the areas of valuation, reinsurance, systems development and support of strategic initiatives and overall financial management matters. Prior to joining Aflac, he held various actuarial positions of increasing responsibility over his 36 year career at Unum Group. He served as Chief Actuary and Senior Vice President of Unum Group since October 14, 2010. Mr. Riggieri began his career in 1980 with Unum-predecessor The Paul Revere Life Insurance Company and was Vice President and Actuary of Unum US since 1998. Over his career he has been involved with and made various contributions to industry actuarial committees and has presided over the development of an industry leading actuarial development program at Unum. He served as an adjunct professor there teaching actuarial exam preparation courses. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. Mr. Riggieri received his Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1978.
