David Backus — Senior Vice President – Print Solutions at Veritiv Corporation
Executive Bio
David Backus serves as Senior Vice President – Print Solutions for Veritiv. In this role he is responsible for leading the company’s multi-billion dollar Print and Publishing businesses. He oversees sales, category management, operations, and strategy for the Print Solutions business within the United States and Mexico. David has more than 30 years’ experience in the paper, print, and distribution industries.
David has been with Veritiv and its predecessor company, xpedx, since 2012. Previously, David served as Vice President of Bulkley Dunton Communications, Veritiv’s Publishing business. Prior to that, he was Vice President - Corporate Accounts for Packaging, Facility Solutions, and International Sales. In these roles, David was responsible for sales, strategy, and operational effectiveness. He also served as General Manager, Metro Atlantic for Veritiv and Senior Vice President - Sales and Operations for Bulkley Dunton.
Prior to joining Veritiv, David spent 12 years at A.T. Clayton, a provider of paper and print procurement services for multi-channel marketers. David was also with Champion International Corporation, a large paper manufacturer, for six years.
David has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from The College of William and Mary.
