Executive Bio
Susan Salyer serves as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Veritiv. In this role, she is responsible for the company’s legal and corporate security teams as well as compliance and sustainability oversight functions. She leads the corporate Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS), Global Trade Compliance, and Risk Management functions. Within her sustainability function, she leads Veritiv’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
Susan previously served as Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance and Sustainability Officer at Veritiv. She joined Veritiv in 2012 and has held a variety of legal and compliance roles including Assistant General Counsel.
Prior to joining Veritiv, she served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel for National Lending Associates, Inc. from 2008 to 2010, and Associate General Counsel for Student Loan Xpress, Inc. from 2004 to 2007, both education loan financing companies. Previously, Susan worked for Thompson Hine LLP. She began her career at a large regional law firm focusing on mergers and acquisitions, securities and corporate finance.
Susan holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Kentucky and a law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center.
