Thomas Graney — CFO & Senior VP at Vertex Pharmaceuticals

Mr. Thomas Graney, also known as Tom, has been Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated since September 13, 2017. Mr. Graney is responsible for the development and execution of the financial strategy and operations that support Vertex's business plans, including the Finance, Accounting and Internal Audit functions. He served as Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Finance & Corporate Strategy at Ironwood Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since September 2014 until September 13, 2017. He was responsible for Finance, Corporate Strategy, Corporate Development, Quality, Supply Chain, IT, Corporate Communications and Investor Relations at Ironwood Pharmaceuticals. Prior to joining Ironwood Pharmaceuticals in 2014, he worked at Johnson & Johnson for approximately 20 years in both the U.S. and abroad. Mr. Graney served as worldwide Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Ethicon Surgical Care at Johnson & Johnson (J&J) company for four years. In addition, Mr. Graney has extensive global experience that spans corporate development, commercial strategy, portfolio management and supply chain management. He has been a Director at AC Immune SA since November 15, 2016. A Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder, Mr. Graney holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Delaware and an M.B.A. in Marketing, Finance and International Business from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University.
