Scott Smith — Founder and Managing Director at Viant

Mr. Scott T. Smith co-founded Viant Group and serves as its Managing Director. Mr. Smith is the Founder of Viant Capital LLC and serves as its Managing Director. He also founded Neveric Capital, Viant's predecessor firm in 1998. He was Partner of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP Mr. Smith has over 20 years of experience in investment banking, corporate law, and company operations worked primarily with technology, media and healthcare companies. Prior to Viant, Mr. Smith served as Managing Director of Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB), where he was responsible for establishing the Silicon Valley office and was the co-head of the technology group. Before CSFB, Mr. Smith spent 15 years with Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, Madison & Sutro as a Partner, where was responsible for founding its Silicon Valley venture capital office. He served as President of Digital On-Demand, Inc. and Chief Executive Officer of GoMo Technologies. He served as Chief Executive Officer of iM Networks, Inc. He is a recognized expert in mergers and acquisitions, capital formation and restructuring strategies. Mr. Smith serves as a Director of Mercatus Inc. He serves as Member of the Advisory Board at SkyPipes Wireless, Inc. He served as Member of Advisory Board of Airex, Inc. He served as Member of Advisory Board at IDInteract, Inc. He served as a Director of iM Networks, Inc. Mr. Smith holds a JD from Boalt School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley and a BA from Colorado College.
