Mitchell Schear — President at Vornado

Mr. Mitchell N. Schear served as the President of Vornado/Charles E. Smith Washington, Dc Division, a subsidiary of Vornado Realty Trust since April 2003 until July 24, 2017. Mr. Schear served as President of Kaempfer Company from 1998 to April 2003. He served as President of Charles E Smith Commercial Realty Division at Vornado Realty Trust since April 2003. He joined Smith in April 2003 from Kaempfer Company, where he served as President where he had been oversaw all aspects of Kaempfer Company's development, leasing and management activities and was in charge of the commercial leasing division of Blake Construction Company. He has 35 years of experience in commercial and residential real estate investment, development and operations, in particular his 14 years of experience and knowledge with respect to the Vornado Included Assets. He has been a Trustee of JBG Smith Properties since 2017. He serves on several boards on behalf of the real estate industry and the community. He is Board Chair of Higher Achievement. He was Chair of the Board of the Lowell School. Mr. Schear is a Vice Chair of the Board of Downtown DC Business Improvement District, the Washington Convention and Sports Authority, a Member of the Board of the Cultural Development Corporation, the Economic Club of Washington DC, the Corporate Board of Arena Stage, the Field School and the Lowell School. In addition, he is a member of the Federal City Council, the Urban Land Institute and AFIRE. He also serves on the Governor's Advisory Council on Revenue Estimates for the Commonwealth of Virginia. In 2007, he was recognized by the District of Columbia Building Industry Association (DCBIA) with its highest honor, the Achievement Award, for his contribution to the Washington DC real estate community. Mr. Schear has a BA from Hobart College and received his MBA from George Washington University.
