Mr. Joe D. Shafer, CPA, has been a Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer of Weingarten Realty Investors (WRI) since February 2010 and 1999 respectively and serves as its Secretary. Mr. Shafer joined WRI in 1995 as Controller and served as its Vice President since 1999. Prior to joining WRI, he was a partner at Deloitte & Touche. Mr. Shafer is responsible for all accounting related functions and cash management. Mr. Shafer graduated from Indiana University where he received BS in Business. He obtained his CPA designation in 1986.
