Mark Stout — SVP & General Counsel at Weingarten Realty Investors

Mr. Mark D. Stout has been Senior Vice President since March 1, 2016 and General Counsel since June 1, 2012 at Weingarten Realty Investors. Mr. Stout served as Vice President since December 2004 until March 15, 2016 and Associate General Counsel since December 2004 at Weingarten Realty Investors. Mr. Stout's responsibilities include managing the Leasing Division of the Legal Department. He also manages the Records Division of the company. He joined the firm as an Associate Counsel in May 1994 to form the Acquisitions Division of the Legal Department. He managed the Legal Acquisitions Division until May 2003, when he was appointed to manage the Leasing Division of the Legal Department. Since that appointment, he was promoted to Associate General Counsel in December 2003 and later promoted to Vice President/Associate General Counsel in January 2005. Prior to this, he practiced real estate and mortgage finance law in Houston, Texas from 1984 to 1994 with the Houston office of Butler & Binion, LLP. He is admitted to the State Bar of Texas and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. Mr. Stout received a Juris Doctorate degree in 1984 from the University of Houston Law Center and a BS degree in Business Administration and Finance from Marquette University in 1981.
