Mary Ellen Pisanelli J.D. — Senior Vice President of Legal & Administration at Welltower Inc

Ms. Mary Ellen Pisanelli, J.D. has been Senior Vice President of Legal & Administration at Welltower Inc. since July 2017. Ms. Pisanelli served as a Partner at Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP since 1990. Ms. Pisanelli joined Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP in 1982 as an Associate Attorney. She spends the majority of her time serving as Outside General Counsel for a large publicly traded client and managing a team of professionals that services most legal matters for this client. During her time at Shumaker, Ms. Pisanelli led the team supporting numerous successful debt and equity offerings including Welltower's 2016 issuance of $700 million of 10-year unsecured debt, Welltower's largest single-tranche debt offering in its history. In 2015 and 2016, Ms. Pisanelli and her team assisted Welltower in its completion of approximately $4.8 billion and $3.0 billion of gross investments, respectively and approximately $1.2 billion and $2.0 billion of strategic dispositions, respectively. Her principal areas of practice are corporate finance, SEC disclosure, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions and business immigration matters. She served as the President of Board of Directors of The Toledo Zoological Society, where she chaired the 2015 Capital Levy Campaign. She was the President The Dental Clinic, Northwest Ohio, from 1990 to 1993. Ms. Pisanelli has been a Member of the Toledo Area Chamber of Commerce, Board of Trustees since 2004, Legal Counsel since 2004. She serves on the Board of Trustees for the University of Toledo. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Toledo Museum of Art. She has been Board of Trustees of The Toledo Zoo since 2005, Member of Board of Trustees Toledo Opera since 2004. She was a Member of Capital Campaign Challenge since 2006, United Way of Greater Toledo, Alexis de Tocqueville Society since 2003 and Member, Attorney's Division for 2005 United Way Leadership Campaign. She was a Member of Board of Trustees from 1996 to 2000, Unit Chair for Health Division since 1996 United Way Campaign; Division Chair for Professional Division, 1995 United Way Campaign; and United Way Young Leader's Council from 1993 to 1997. She was a St. Member of Vincent Mercy Medical Center Foundation, Member of Board of Trustees from 1998 to 2003. Ms. Pisanelli is a Member of the American, Ohio and Toledo Bar Associations, the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT) and member of the American Immigration Lawyer's Association until 2006. She was a Member, Board of Trustees from 1978 to 1993.
