He is involved with many community and civic organizations. He served as Chairman of United Way of the Texas Gulf Coast. He served as Chairman of Amegy Bank National Association. Mr. McLean served as Chairman of the Dallas United Way Campaign, President of the SMU Alumni Association, Chairman of the SMU Annual Giving Campaign, Chairman of the Texas Business Hall of Fame, Chairman of El Paso Chamber of Commerce from 1993 to 1997. He has been a Director of Centerpoint Energy Resources Corp. since December 2013. He has been an Independent Director at Amegy Bank National Association since 2004 and CenterPoint Energy, Inc. since December 2013. He has been a Director of Amegy Bank National Association of Amegy Corporation since 2004. He serves as a Director Amegy Corporation. He serves as a Director of Memorial Hermann Healthcare System, Houston Ballet Foundation and Sam, Houston Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America and as a member of Young President Organization.
