BIO: Mr. Gary R. Weis has been the Chief Executive Officer of Sonic Foundry, Inc. since March 2011 and has been its Chief Technology Officer since September 2011. Mr. Weis serves as a Strategic Advisor at Rein Capital, LLC. Mr. Weis serves as Senior Vice President at&T Business Services, Global Operations where he was responsible for one of the world's largest data and IP networks, serving more than 30,000 businesses and providing Internet access to more than one million individuals worldwide. Mr. Weis serves as the President, Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Cometa Networks. He served as the Chairman of Sonic Foundry, Inc. and has been its Director since February, 2004. Prior to joining AT&T in May 1999, Mr. Weis had worldwide responsibility for the IBM Global Network. Within IBM, he also held the position of the General Manager at Managed Data Network Services and Network Technology responsible for design, development, management, marketing and delivery of managed data network services, managed messaging services, collaborative services, managed internet services and network outsourcing services. Mr. Weis was the President and Chief Operating Officer at Advantis. He was named to that position in August 1992 when Advantis was announced as a joint venture between IBM and Sears, Roebuck & Co. In January 1995, Mr. Weis also was named as the Chief Operations Officer for the IBM Global Network. Mr. Weis joined Advantis from Sears where he had served as the Senior Vice President of networking and technology services at Sears Technology Services, Inc. (STS) and President of the Sears Communications Co. His organization provided communications and technology services to Sears and value-added networking services to commercial customers. Mr. Weis also held a number of other senior level management positions at Sears. He received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
