BIO: John Banczak co-founded TurnKey Vacation Rentals with T.J. Clark in 2013 after serving in leadership positions with HomeAway, Hotwire.com, BedandBreakfast.com and Worldres.com. As CEO, John’s extensive experience with travel technology has been instrumental in the success of TurnKey and its proprietary technology platform, which automates routine tasks of property management. Since 2013, TurnKey has grown to 400+ employees, over $100 million in total funding and nearly 5,000 properties under management in 80 U.S. destinations. John began his career in revenue management at Northwest Airlines and later at the Amsterdam-based KLM/NWA alliance. He joined Accenture’s Strategic Services group in San Francisco and specialized in eCommerce and business strategy for clients including Microsoft and FedEx. After working at Bay Area-based lodging startup Worldres.com, John was recruited to Hotwire.com, where he ran the company’s airline, GDS and car rental operations groups. After Hotwire was acquired by Expedia, John joined BedandBreakfast.com, where he served as President and led the acquisition of the company by HomeAway in 2010. Subsequently, John ran the HomeAway Software for Professionals groups and led the company’s post-merger acquisitions of Instant Software and Escapia. John earned a BBA in Finance from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA from Northwestern University Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
