There's little churn in middle-management and you'll never be given an opportunity to work on projects that improve your skills. If you have the personal time to invest in online training, you can move sideways into better paying jobs pretty easily and then move on to more profitable companies. Orientation is 1 day, but training/onboarding can be weeks long depending on the role. Some of the training is formal, some is thru on the job training/partnering with experienced team members.
