Everyone does the work of 3 people.
Honestly, these are some of the most hardworking people I've ever met. Everyone here pulls more than their weight and has a work load that could easily be split into 3 jobs. Kudos to everyone who works here.

No animals are allowed in the building.
Does Century Communities drug test or do a background check?
Yes to both.
How difficult is it to maintain a social life while in your job at Century Communities?
The job does not cut into my social life. At Century it's a personal choice whether or not you work long hours. If you fail to realize that long hours won't get you ahead then you miss out on your personal life. If you do your best and go home at 5 you'll be able to have a rich personal life.
How's the feedback proccess at Century Communities?
Feedback is usually ignored by upper management and human resources.
What's one thing you wish you'd known before joining Century Communities?
I wish I'd known how heavy the work load would be.
How secure do you feel at your job at Century Communities?
I'm very secure in my position. I know that my institutional knowledge and my own initiative for continued improvement are highly valued.

The workload is very challenging. I wish there were more time to devote to expanding skill sets though.
What are the team outings like at Century Communities?
Team outings are semi-annual and mandatory. They're fairly relaxed but all to often held at Top Golf, which isn't great unless you love golf.

Some partners offer discounts to Century employees on items like appliances.

Executive offices line the exterior. Cubicles for everyone else.

There is no formal review system. Promotions are sporadic and usually only given when you request a raise after going above and beyond.

Century Communities is expanding into new regions and creating greater saturation in existing markets. The fastest growing segments for Century would be entry level product which they've streamlined for faster build times and designed to reduce waste in order to deliver product at lower price points.
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Century Communities?
Changes would have to start from the top down. To remove the hostile climate you'd need to make people feel safer about accepting blame/responsibility when things go wrong, provide adequate staffing so people aren't so over worked, and improve communication across every facet of the company.
What do people at Century Communities think about the CEO? What do they do well and what can they improve?
The dual CEOs keep to themselves and major execs. They have a reputation for being ruthless businessmen and for putting profits over people.
How's the work life balance at Century Communities?

In general work life balance is BAD. Almost every employee does the work of about three people. Fire drill emergencies and late nights are a fact of life here.
