BlueRock Therapeutics LP is a clinical stage cell therapy harnessing the power of cell therapy to create a pipeline of new medicines for people suffering from neurological and ophthalmic diseases. Two of our novel investigational cell therapies, bemdaneprocel (BRT-DA01) for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease and OpCT-001 for the treatment of primary photoreceptor diseases are clinical stage programs. Overall negative. The push to hit deadlines at any cost is way beyond many other biotechs and shows a lack of trust in people and no care for their mental health. Middle management will agree that it’s impossible but can’t deliver that message up the line. Individuals care, company does

Timelines should be continuously reevaluated for feasibility so that people can deliver quality work without burning out. Everyone is being pushed to hit arbitrary and impossible deadlines with no regard for work-life balance or mental health.

The vast majority of individuals want to do what is right but the organization behavior does not reflect that. Listen to people when they say they are overworked or that a deadline is impossible to meet.

There needs to be open communication about project challenges, both technical and resourcing, with a willingness to shift timelines if needed. Currently all deadlines are strictly enforced even if everyone on the team agrees that they are impossible to meet.
