because we are remote, it is difficult to know who is doing what and when. Better communication among leadership would be helpful. The lower-level people communicate with one another frequently

Communication and caring about your employees would go a long way. Hard to be at your best when you don't know from day-to-day if/when your job will be offshored. There is no severance so you are pretty much left to your own devices.
