I have worked at cognizant technology solutions for 8 months; I wouldn't recommend cognizant for freshers. Because companies like cognizant mostly put freshers on bench where freshers couldn't learn anything and they wouldn't get any expereince by working there. But cognizant is good for expereince

Focus on employee needs, automatically company culture will improve.
A little honesty would go a long way. Stop underestimating your employees and act as if you truly value them. When you value your employees they are willing to go to the mat for you and the clients.

What do people at Cognizant think about the CEO? What do they do well and what can they improve?
Don't know what they think. Improve transparency and inclusion.
They don't invest in Digital Business and they don't people operators well. Making a huge turning around affecting relationships, culture, and negative perspective on the job itself. It is a consequence when you are not valued by your efforts.
Our CEO is great but our company is so big that we don't have any face time with him. It would be nice if he visited other offices more.

There is no career Development unless you belong to a certain group or under manager bucket list.
Employees do not grow if they continue to work for many years. They are considered as burden and don't appreciate them
People inside cognizant are underpaid and external hired are highly paid for doing the same work

Cognizant as a whole is growing, and having difficulties balancing work and balancing their bench time. Some policies, such as the one where they prefer employees to move as opposed to FIFO, make it a harder company to have longevity with.
All parts are having difficulties. Digital Business is growing fastest.
Advertising growing quickly. Financial services struggling.

What's the work from home policy like at Cognizant Technology Solutions?

For US employees, you are expected to provide your own high speed internet and phone service. The company does not reimburse you for this. You will be issued a company laptop. If you want or feel you need monitors or docking for the laptop, you will have to provide your own. There will be forms to sign and all other company policies must be adhered to. Being remote will depend on the position, your manager and whether you are physically located near an office. Some employees are fully remote, others may be allowed to work remotely once or twice a week and some, not at all-it truly depends on the position and your management.

Looong!
Long, slow but professional. For a while. Give you one offer, rescind it after you have accepted and then lowball you with another offer, that you then need to negotiate up. Then after you come to another agreements, they change it one more time in the offer letter. Unethical!

Decent health and dental, 401(k), the normal stuff. Nothing great, nothing terrible.

Should encourage employees to pursue their dream and provide equal opportunities. But each business unit operate as separate company
people need more civilized people
Don't cheat employees in name of RDP. They change the RDP criteria just before promotion and make employees purposely deny their promotion.
What does the leadership team at Cognizant need to get better at?
Promote the deserving candidates spontaneously rather than waiting for 1 full year and cheating then with RDP criteria

Should partnership with client well and not just mere service provider. Aggressive on project bid and exploit the employees will downhill

RDP courses mandatory for promotion is a new policy, but the courses are not available or even if available has limited Slots.

How's the morale at Cognizant Technology Solutions?
Low in my particular location
Not good for operations. They don’t offer good pay because they choose unqualified people for the job. Any complaints expecting changes are not heard. If you do complaint to HR they get back to you by cutting out your bonus and raises. Legal complaints are constantly, descrimination happens and treatment is very disrespectful at times causing hostile environment. I did not see happy people in that office yet.
Ir depends on the area. For Operations, many US jobs have been or are being outsourced so people are concerned about their jobs and what is going to happen. There is no severance pay so that makes the concern even more magnified.
How does Cognizant make decisions around promotions?

Solely Data but.. if your complaint with HR or legal about whatever is going on with the office prepare yourself because they find ways to not pay your raises, bonus etc. They will exhaust so you quit and they don't hold themselves responsible.
If you have a godfather promotions are easier - if you don't know anyone in the higher up you will be stuck for years at one place. Also there is a serious favoritism when it comes to delegating critical responsibilities even though the person may not be skilled at performing those tasks while other folks who are more talented are left ignored. So there is a clear case of favortisim that is very obvious these days.
How's the vacation policy at Cognizant?
Good
Pathetic vacation policy - Senior managers at onsite get 12 days a year. CTS brands itself as an American firm with roots here but their benefits and ESP vacation leaves lot to be desired.

Most "offices" are in office blocks so cafeteria are not an issue. most sales associates work from home in anycase

How are the dental insurance options at Cognizant Technology Solutions?

Options are decent. Coverage with Met Life w/choice of having Ortho or no Ortho and the ortho covers adults as well as dependent children. Nice option when you need adult ortho done.
The dental choices are thru MetLife. There is a Low Plan and a High Plan. You can go to any dentist you like but you get a higher benefit by going to an in-network dentist. The High Plan has a $2500 annual per person max per calendar year and pays a higher benefit percentage than the Low Plan. High plan also has orthodontic benefit that can be used for adults as well as your dependent children. I know the low plan has a lower annual max, no orthodontia and pays a lower percentage but I can't recall the amounts since I have the High Plan. Hope that helps you.
