I have worked at cognizant technology solutions for 8 months; I wouldn't recommend cognizant for freshers. Because companies like cognizant mostly put freshers on bench where freshers couldn't learn anything and they wouldn't get any expereince by working there. But cognizant is good for expereince

Benefits are extremely costly
The benefits a good when it comes to medical and other sources. Entry level jobs you have to pay out of your pocket. PTO is not good enough for the people. But with cultural diversity is hard for employees to take enough time to see their families. Most of the people that I know are from far away countries where they don't get paid well, they don't have enough PTO to visit their families, forcing them to work on holidays, and is very sad. The result is a negative environment, sad, and depressed. No one deserves to be away from their families, and be forced to work on Holidays. Cognizant left the appearance they don't care about their employees. Demoralizing people as humans, pretty much.
What's the best part of your job at Cognizant Technology Solutions?
The pay
Depending on the Client they get, you can get away from their Hostile attitude - Teams are different. If you get lucky to find a good positive fun spirit team that invest on you-you can have a good experience but mostly what I heard from Entry levels to high up levels is that is far away they will invest on your to be great in something because they don't hire well-qualified people. They hire people in desperate for a job, that is the big difference when great companies don't hire direct today. Because big companies when they hire you directly they invest in you and help your growth. Cognizant doesn't take time to train management to see people's/ Teams members potentials. It is all about the money for them.
What's one thing you wish you'd known before joining Cognizant Technology Solutions?
The reality about Cognizant. Since the company looks great in paper
I wish I could know all I know, been thru today. I am glad I am leaving the experience to tell others now. That you apply, do the job and take the bad with you. They know how to do business that only favor themselves but the employees get punished in many levels.
How are layoffs handled in the Operations department at Cognizant Technology Solutions?
The managment appear to be indifferent
They generally do not give much notice and there is no severance policy in place any longer. You are placed on a "bench" for up to five weeks and if no position either lateral or one grade up can be located for you then you are terminated. At that point you can file for your unemployment compensation with the state you reside in. During the bench period you will receive your normal pay. I believe that if they offer a position to you during the bench period you get up to 2 times to refuse an offer. After the 2nd refusal, you will be terminated. Not sure how that process affects any unemployment compensation,
How secure do you feel at your job at Cognizant Technology Solutions?
Not secure at all. They do all this to force you to quit or find something else.
I have no security at all. I was removed from my current position with less than 24 hours notice and now being moved from project to project, none of which are related to my actual job title or duties.
How would you describe your overall experience interviewing at Cognizant Technology Solutions?
Terrible
It was alright not too though and not to easy. As it was for one of the horizontals it was not better than any direct project recruitment.
Does Cognizant have any remote positions?
NO... probably the directors, managing directors, vice president etc... but operators and low jobs don't get absolutely any way to work from home.

It's never about revenue and money. It's always a win-win strategy for associates and company
Positives: have multiple projects so one has better opportunities to stay at onsite. Does process GC for employees as a policy not exception

Knowledge and Technical skills are the key.
What is the PTO policy at Cognizant Technology Solutions?
It stinks if you are a new employee as you only get 2 weeks/year regardless of how many years of service you have. If you were grandfathered in from the transition from a prior company purchased by CTS and are an exempt employee, then PTO is unlimited. Nice but most times very difficult to schedule.

How hard is it to get promoted at Cognizant Technology Solutions?
That’s a bit hard, there’s an unofficial saying that untill you complete 3 years in Cognizant you are treated as an outsider. That said, if you are in a role and technology that demands your skills then yes anytime is possible

What is the best advice you could give someone during their first month at Cognizant Technology Solutions?
Ask to be included. And ask again. And again. And again. Otherwise, you will be left on your own - in a very lonely place. You have to be pushy about it, nobody will help you get integrated beyond the first two days.

Has much better corporations and companies more focus on employee growth and potentials than this one. People should be fearful finding something better than this organization. Respect is a must in any business and they don’t hire people who understand respect and problems gets easily increased with time. The problem is the company hiring wrong people to the entire jobs and consequently the company fails to give better service. Zero trust in this company.
How difficult is it to maintain a social life while in your job at Cognizant Technology Solutions?
Yes very hard because is no vacation and no other benefits and you have to work on holidays yes is no life with your family.
