the working environment is OK. starting salary good, but pay increases have amounted to only 15% cumulative over 10 years. After making noise about being concerned with employee retention, annual increases are in 2% range, while inflation is at 7%

too much of bonus pay has to do w overall performance. my group is very profitable, but company hasn't been doing so well, So we're penalized by their performance.

dealing with a software product cobbled together from pieces that range in age from 20 to 30 years. only possible remedy would be a ground-up rework. which would probably not be profitable.
