Compensation was well below industry standards. I had to fight to get it to a minimum for my standard. Stock options were available for purchase but none given to you. No other real benefits from a comp perspective. Bonuses were minimal.
Communicating with employees - HR practices and being CLEAR with expectations. Not forcing employees to live by the CEOs lifestyle (eating lunch at the same time, working at the exact same 9am sharp to 5:30pm sharp timeline, working from home flexibility). Listening to customers and employees.
