Depends on the role you are applying for. I would definitely be sure to come prepared by knowing about the company culture and mission/values.

  • What are you looking for in your next role? What's important to you in your next job and the company you chose?

  • Skills fit is important, but I believe questions are more geared towards potential impact fit/values match more than anything.

Common for acquired businesses 18 months after the purchase. Poor severance.

  • I have only seen layoff occur on the CDE team.

  • Infrequent, and when they happen, they happen with the highest degree of sensitivity and respect for those impacted.

  • Everyone likes Aaron and his transparency

  • He's super inspiring and authentic. Many are impressed with how intentional he is to catering messages to the entire Pluralsight office, and some that have been at the company much longer miss having a CEO that said "whatever came to mind" since they were small enough to make quick decisions and for the CEO to truly know his audience. I personally appreciate the effort Aaron puts into being a better and better leader for all of us at Pluralsight and believe there's balance in crafting a message and still being authentic while doing it.

  • Feelings are mixed. Some think Aaron can do no wrong. Some think he is fake and untrustworthy.

  • Very good. I don't feel like I have to respond the minute an email or a slack comes in. Everyone is respectful of your time outside of the office.

  • Extremely possible for everyone.

  • There is no work life balance for many despite the best of intentions. It's fun often rewording and creative work but it is work that consumes the personal life and relationships.

  • It's based on individual performance + company need for the role

  • It doesn't just matter who can get the job done, it very much matters how they respect those around them and show up to work every day.

  • Have no idea. It is secretive. They usually hire outside the company I've noticed, usually men, though the talk is they want to change that.

  • Very good. It's unlimited PTO within reason.

  • I love that it's unlimited, and I don't believe this prevents me from taking the time I need to rest and recover. Some people believe in that philosophy when it comes to unlimited time off, but I believe people just do that to themselves. At Pluralsight everyone is given the freedom to speak up when they need time, because it's a safe environment and isn't cut-throat.

  • Great! Unlimited PTO! The thing is...people rarely take it. In my department, there was this unspoken pressure or feeling that we had to be seen at the office working and that we had to perform. There are some I know who haven't taken an actual vacation in years...just one off days here and there when sick. I think they would take a vacation though if it were labeled as vacation or encouraged by leadership to do so.

  • Sales is growing really quickly. We need to make sure that the Development teams keep growing and that we have good talent in place to keep up in the mkt.

  • Sales! And...sales.

  • We are growing like a true mid-western on a fast-food diet--our middles are growing fast. There are too many middle managers, not a lot of workers who create stuff and not a lot of deciders at the top.

  • We need to keep hiring toward our mission and our values. Having those here with similar values and being bought in on what we are doing here, will keep the culture going.

  • I'd love for the leadership team to get realllllly good at communicating changes/transitions. This would ease a lot of side-talk and confusion for many.

  • This company is dominated by white men. Yes, they've given select women some token promotions. And I guess that counts for something. But I'd like to see more of an effort than that and the photographer asking the women to stand front and center in all the company photographs.

  • Due to the high volume of resumes we receive, it's always beneficial to make sure your resume is clear, concise, and powerfully demonstrates your ability to do the job to which you are applying. Stick to one page if you can, highlight your applicable skills, and convey your excitement to join this amazing company!

  • I'm not sure if there's a preferred way to submit to be honest, but as a general rule of thumb, I'd recommend PDF format and as short, concise and effective as possible.

  • In addition to unlimited PTO, they pay our insurance premiums on medical, vision, and dental for myself and my family. That's huge and an excellent benefit. We also get RSU's, everyone loves having an ownership stake in the company.

  • 100% medical, dental and vision benefits paid. Unlimited vacation. LIKE WHAT

  • It's quicker than most companies with the exception sometimes of the final interview. At the C Level, the schedules are tighter and harder to lock down. If delays come in, that's when they occur.

  • Thorough. Phone screening with a recruiter always happens first, then at least one in-person interview will take place for in-office positions. Sometimes numerous remote interviews are conducted for remote employees before hire.

  • I've experienced direct, open communication with my leader at Pluralsight. I don't wonder "how I'm doing" or if I'm meeting expectations since we create clear agreements on what needs to be accomplished. I believe we have some strong leaders that are capable of radical candor, but there are a handful of people that don't experience Pluralsight the way I do based on their leader's ability to provide direct feedback.
