Creating Space for Connection: Inside the Launch ERN with Tianna Rendall

How one Senior Corporate Recruiter is helping shape the future of early-career professionals at Beacon Hill

In the fast-paced world of corporate recruiting, it’s easy to focus solely on filling positions and meeting quotas. But for Tianna Rendall, Senior Corporate Recruiter – Campus at Beacon Hill Corporate Recruiting, the role has always been about something deeper: building connections, fostering community, and creating pathways for the next generation of talent to thrive.

As co-leader of Launch, Beacon Hill’s Employee Resource Network (ERN) dedicated to early-career professionals, Tianna has become a driving force in shaping how new employees experience the company culture. Her journey from a recent college graduate to a leader championing belonging and professional development is a testament to both her personal drive and the supportive environment that Beacon Hill cultivates.

From FSU Grad to Rising Leader

Tianna’s path to Beacon Hill began in 2020, a year that tested the resilience of new graduates everywhere. Fresh out of Florida State University (go Noles!), she dove headfirst into IT recruiting, quickly discovering that her natural sales drive paired beautifully with a genuine passion for connecting with people. Within just a year and a half, she earned three promotions—a remarkable achievement that spoke to her dedication and hunger for growth.

But even with rapid success, Tianna knew she wanted more. A conversation with Olivia Kowalkowski, now a colleague and friend, changed everything. “Hearing about her experience joining the company was truly inspiring,” Tianna shares, giving a shoutout to Chelsie Walsh for bringing Olivia to Beacon Hill. That introduction led to connections with Beacon Hill’s campus recruiting team, and as Tianna puts it, “the rest is history!”

Since joining as a Senior Corporate Recruiter, Tianna has traveled to career fairs across the Southeast, meeting ambitious students eager to launch their careers with a company that genuinely cares about its people. “Being able to match them with our incredible teams nationwide and help them launch (no pun intended!) their careers has been incredibly rewarding,” she says. “These past 3.5 years at BH have been impactful, and I’m so grateful for the journey so far.”

Growth Through Freedom and Accountability

When asked how working at Beacon Hill has shaped her professional development, Tianna doesn’t hesitate. “Beacon Hill has challenged me to push myself in the best ways. The company gives you the freedom to take ownership of your role, while also surrounding you with incredible leaders, mentors, and peers who push you to think bigger.”

One of the most valuable lessons Tianna has learned is the importance of balancing empathy with accountability—a combination that has been instrumental in her growth as both a recruiter and a leader.

The Heart of Launch

Tianna’s involvement with Launch was a natural extension of her values. “I joined Launch to foster connection and support for early-career professionals navigating new transitions,” she explains. Having been an early-career professional herself not long ago, she understood firsthand the challenges that come with starting a new job and building a professional network from scratch.

When the opportunity arose to co-lead Launch, Tianna embraced it. “Co-leading was a natural next step, as I’ve always believed people do their best work when collaboration and community come first,” she says. Working alongside Chelsie Walsh, the IMPACT Resource Manager who spearheaded Launch, has been particularly meaningful. “Working alongside Chelsie has been both inspiring and a true joy.”

For Tianna, Launch represents something significant on both personal and professional levels. “Personally, Launch has given me a sense of belonging and purpose outside of my day-to-day work,” she reflects. “Professionally, it’s been an opportunity to grow as a leader—to facilitate conversations, build programs, and support others in finding their voice within the company.”

Building Bridges Across the Organization

One of Launch’s most significant contributions is its ability to create connections across Beacon Hill that might not otherwise exist. “Launch has really opened the door for people to connect across offices and divisions who might not have otherwise met,” Tianna explains. “Whether it’s through professional development sessions, panels, or informal breakout rooms, the group encourages authenticity and reminds everyone that they’re part of a bigger network here.”

This cross-organizational connection is particularly valuable for early-career professionals who are still building their understanding of how the company works and where they fit within the larger ecosystem. The variety of programming—from structured professional development to casual conversations—ensures there’s something for everyone.

“I think Launch helps people feel seen—no matter where they’re located or what their role is,” Tianna says. “It creates touchpoints across the organization, helping employees realize that they have a community cheering them on, even from afar.”

The Essential Role of ERNs

Employee Resource Networks like Launch play a crucial role in shaping company culture. “ERNs like Launch are essential in making sure emerging leaders feel seen, heard, and appreciated,” Tianna explains. “They create opportunities to connect, share feedback, and celebrate successes—all of which strengthen the inclusive, people-first culture that makes Beacon Hill special.”

By investing in ERNs, Beacon Hill demonstrates that its commitment to employees goes beyond transactional relationships. ERNs also serve as important feedback mechanisms and help identify and develop future leaders within the organization.

Advice for Getting Involved

For employees curious about ERNs but hesitant to take the plunge, Tianna offers straightforward advice: “Start by showing up—attend a meeting, join a discussion, or volunteer for a project that speaks to you. You don’t need to have all the answers; just being willing to engage makes a difference.”

The benefits extend in multiple directions. “Getting involved not only helps shape the company culture but also allows you to build relationships and discover new skills in the process,” Tianna notes. By participating in ERNs, employees gain expanded networks, skill development opportunities, cultural impact, increased visibility, and personal fulfillment.

Why It All Matters

At its core, Tianna’s work with Launch is about helping people feel less alone in their professional journeys. Starting a career, navigating workplace dynamics, and finding your voice are universal challenges. Having a community that understands those challenges and provides support can make all the difference.

For the students Tianna meets at career fairs, for new hires joining Beacon Hill’s teams, and for early-career professionals finding their footing, Launch represents a promise: you’re not alone, you’re valued, and we’re here to support your growth.

As Tianna continues her journey at Beacon Hill, one thing is clear: she’s not just recruiting talent or co-leading an ERN. She’s creating space for connection, building community, and helping shape the future of work—one meaningful conversation, one supportive relationship, and one empowered early-career professional at a time.
