As companies expand their footprints across continents and time zones, building a workplace culture that feels consistent — no matter where employees log in from — has become one of the defining challenges of modern leadership. We asked HR and culture leaders several organizations how they keep their global teams aligned around a shared set of values, and how they ensure remote, hybrid, and in-office employees all feel equally connected to the company culture. Their answers reveal a common thread: from region-based social programming and employee resource groups to leadership training focused on inclusive management, the most successful global cultures are built not around a single office, but around intentional communication, inclusion, and a people-first mindset that transcends geography.
What are the core principles or values that guide your workplace culture across all your global locations?
At Motive, our workplace culture is grounded in four core values: Own It, Less, But Better, Build Trust, and Unlock Potential. Together, these values create a consistent foundation for how we work across teams and geographies by emphasizing ownership, simplicity, collaboration, inclusion, growth, and high standards. Across all of our global locations, we aim to create an environment where people can do their best work, feel supported, and continue developing in meaningful ways.
How do you ensure that remote, hybrid, and in-office employees across different countries all feel equally connected to your company culture?
We foster connection by designing culture around shared values and flexibility, not around a single location. As a remote-first organization, Motive gives employees the option to work in the way that helps them perform best—fully remote, hybrid, or in-office—depending on their needs and proximity to one of our global offices. We support that flexibility with equitable benefits and tools, including a flexible remote work policy so employees can be set up for success wherever they work.
Connection also comes from intentional programming that helps employees build community, develop professionally, and feel a sense of belonging across borders. Motive supports employee resource groups, quarterly mentorship meetups, fireside chats and speaker panels, and leadership training focused on inclusive management, communicating across differences, building trust, and mitigating bias. That combination of flexibility, inclusion, and consistent leadership helps ensure that employees feel connected to the same culture whether they log in from home, collaborate in an office, or split time between the two.

What are the core principles or values that guide your workplace culture across all your global locations?
At the heart of our global culture are two deeply connected principles: innovation and collaboration. We believe innovation thrives when collaboration is at its best and empowered teams unite to solve complex challenges.
For us, innovation is a daily mindset. We encourage our workforce to challenge the status quo, experiment with new ways of working, and approach every project with a clear vision to turn bold ideas into real-world solutions. Through all of this is a strong commitment to teamwork. Whether collaborating across time zones or across a meeting room, we trust our employees to own their outcomes and celebrate their wins. Centering our culture on these two principles gives our global teams a unified, shared language, no matter where they’re working from.

What are the core principles or values that guide your workplace culture across all your global locations?
We believe workplace culture is not defined by geography or office space. Whether our employees are working with a client in the United States, collaborating with teammates in India, or working remotely from around the world, they live by the same core purpose and seven core values that have shaped our company since its founding.
Centric Consulting’s purpose is to create unmatched experiences for our clients and employees, whether that’s taking time to really listen to a client’s needs or giving a colleague a lift on a rainy day.
Actions like these are guided by our core values:
• Commit to Delivery Excellence: In all our projects, we strive to first understand your needs and then deliver on our commitments 100 percent of the time.
• Embrace Openness and Integrity: We value strong, positive relationships that are open and honest, allowing us to accomplish more than we would be able to otherwise.
• Practice Responsible Stewardship: We guard and conserve company resources as if they were our own because it always makes good business sense, not just during lean times.
• Invest in an Exceptional Culture: We aim to hire and retain talented people from diverse backgrounds who can create a high impact for our clients and internally within our company.
• Ignite Passion for the Greater Good: We are steadfast in our devotion to the communities we serve and actively promote employee involvement in community improvement projects.
• Strive to Innovate: We value passion, determination, perseverance, and innovation. And we use these traits to remove obstacles and help you succeed.
• Live a Balanced Life: We encourage our people to strive for balance in their life, and we monitor projects to ensure they have time for family, community, and personal interests.
Together, these core values influence how we serve clients, collaborate with one another, support our communities, and make decisions as a business. Ultimately, our goal is to create an environment where people can do meaningful work, grow their careers, build lasting relationships, and maintain balance in their lives. That people-first mindset remains at the center of our culture as we continue to grow globally.
How do you ensure that remote, hybrid, and in-office employees across different countries all feel equally connected to your company culture?
Centric Consulting has operated as a flexible, remote-first organization since 1999, long before hybrid work became common. Because our culture was intentionally built to thrive across distance, creating connection is not an afterthought—it’s just how we work every day.
We focus on creating meaningful opportunities for employees to connect regardless of where they work. Our teams collaborate through digital tools, participate in firmwide meetings and local events, and engage in employee-led communities and resource groups that help build relationships across offices, disciplines, and countries. We also encourage open communication and knowledge sharing so employees feel informed, supported, and connected to the broader organization.
Inclusion and belonging are central to our culture strategy. Through our Centric Together initiative and employee resource groups, we create opportunities for people to learn from one another, share experiences, and bring diverse perspectives to the table. These programs help ensure every employee feels seen, heard, and valued, regardless of their role, location, or work arrangement.
Perhaps most importantly, we measure success by outcomes, not where work gets done. By giving employees flexibility and trust while intentionally investing in relationships and community, we’ve built a culture that helps people feel connected to something bigger than themselves—whether they’re working from home, a client site, or one of our offices around the world.

What are the core principles or values that guide your workplace culture across all your global locations?
At Calix, our culture is rooted in a shared sense of purpose, trust, and collective success. We believe employees are most engaged when they understand how their work contributes to something larger than themselves. This sense of purpose connects our global workforce and serves as the foundation for how we work, innovate, and support one another.
Bringing that purpose to life are our Three Cs: Create, Collaborate, and Communicate. These principles guide how we work together across teams, functions, and geographies. We encourage employees to create by challenging the status quo and driving innovation. We collaborate because diverse perspectives and strong partnerships accelerate impact. We communicate openly and transparently to build trust, increase alignment, and ensure ideas can move quickly throughout the organization.
Equally important is our belief that success is shared. We foster a culture where employees are encouraged to invest in the success of others, whether that means supporting a colleague’s growth, sharing knowledge across teams, or helping customers achieve their goals. We believe that when individuals succeed, teams perform better, customers benefit, and the business thrives. This mindset of mutual support and collective achievement is a defining characteristic of our culture.
Trust and transparency further strengthen these values. We empower employees with flexibility and autonomy while maintaining a strong sense of accountability and connection. Through open dialogue, active listening, and a commitment to acting on employee feedback, we create an environment where employees feel informed, valued, and empowered to contribute their ideas, perspectives, and best work.
Together, these principles create a culture that transcends geography, enabling employees around the world to operate with a shared sense of purpose, ownership, and commitment to each other’s success.
How do you ensure that remote, hybrid, and in-office employees across different countries all feel equally connected to your company culture?
Whether employees work remotely, in a hybrid environment, or from an office at Calix, our goal is to create a consistent sense of connection, belonging, and shared purpose across all regions.
We achieve this by creating intentional opportunities for communication, collaboration, and engagement that help employees stay informed, connected to one another, and aligned to our mission. Through regular leadership communications, company-wide events, collaborative tools, and team experiences, employees have consistent access to the information, relationships, and resources they need to thrive regardless of where they work.
A key component of our approach is listening. We leverage multiple employee feedback channels to gather insights, encourage open dialogue, and ensure employees across different countries and work environments have a voice in shaping the employee experience. By actively listening and responding to feedback, we reinforce trust, transparency, and a culture where employees feel heard, valued, and empowered to contribute.
We also recognize that connection is built through understanding. Our Foundations of Perspectives training provides employees with a shared framework for appreciating different viewpoints, navigating cultural differences, and collaborating effectively across geographies. These learning opportunities help foster greater awareness, empathy, and inclusion, enabling employees to build stronger relationships and work more effectively with colleagues around the world.
Complementing these efforts are our employee-led affinity groups, which create meaningful opportunities for employees to connect around shared experiences and interests. These communities help strengthen relationships, foster belonging, and create spaces where employees can support and learn from one another regardless of location.
As Coco Wang, Senior Director of Talent and Culture, recently shared, “Everything starts with curiosity when you want to learn cultural differences. Always assume your global teammates have good intent, ask questions before making assumptions, and adapt how you show up for the people in the room.” This mindset of curiosity, empathy, and respect helps unite our global workforce and ensures that employees—whether remote, hybrid, or in-office—can build meaningful relationships, collaborate effectively, and contribute their best work from anywhere in the world.
The result is a culture that is connected by purpose rather than proximity, where every employee has the opportunity to belong, contribute, and succeed regardless of location.
