David Waller

Professional Background

Mr. Waller has been Senior Managing Director of Financial Services Practice for Strategic Communications Segment at FTI Consulting, Inc. since July 26, 2016. Mr. David Waller served as Head of Media Relations at Man Group plc. He served as Director of Communications at GLG Partners, Inc. since joining in November 2009. Prior to AFME, Mr. Waller served as Head of Communications for Man Group, having previously held senior communications roles at Allianz and Dresdner Kleinwort. Mr. Waller served the last 2 years as a Partner at Maitland, the financial public relations firm where he acted for a number of clients including UKFI, the body that manages the UK Government's investments in the banking sector. Mr. Waller has a wealth of in-house and agency experience in the financial services sector. Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Waller was the Director of External Relations for the Association of Financial Markets in Europe ('AFME'), the representative group for the European investment banking and capital markets industry. Prior to Maitland, he worked in a number of senior roles within the Allianz Group including as Group Head of External Relations. Mr. Waller started his career at the Financial Times, where he held a number of roles over 8 years including Deputy Head of the Lex Column, where his responsibilities included financial institutions. He has also previously established a successful financial public relations company. Earlier in his career, Mr. Waller was a Journalist at the Financial Times, as both the Frankfurt correspondent and a writer on the Lex column. He is a published author on the subjects of both business and public relations. He holds a Degree in English from Oxford University.
