Mr. James R. Elliott, III, also known as Jimmy, serves as the Global Multi Asset Group International Chief Investment Officer and Fund Manager at JPMorgan Asset Management (UK) Limited. Mr. Elliott serves as Global Chairman of Mergers & Acquisitions and Global Head of Mergers & Acquisitions at JPMorgan Chase & Co. He joined JP Morgan in 1997 as a Senior Member of the M&A Department. He serves as Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, Inc. He served as the Managing Director of J.P. Morgan Securities LLC. He was employed at JPMorgan Asset Management (Japan) Limited and RAB Capital Holdings Ltd. He began his career at the First Boston Corporation in 1976 and spent ten years in the Mergers and Acquisitions department specializing in energy sector takeovers. He was appointed Head of Risk Arbitrage Department in 1986 and managed a $500 million portfolio until his departure in 1989. In 1990, Mr. Elliott started and managed a hedge fund, which invested in M&A Risk Arbitrage and Special Situations. Prior to this, he was working for specialist hedge fund manager RAB Capital.
