Professional Background
Mr. Peter Lyon, also known as Pete, serves as Partner since 2006, Managing Director since 2003, and Co-Head of Equity Capital Markets Group at The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. Mr. Lyon previously served as Co-Head of Investment Banking Services and Co-Head of Financial Sponsors Group since 2011. He assumed responsibility for private equity client relationship management in the Financial Sponsors Group in 2000. In 2008, he was head of client coverage for the MENA region for Investment Banking. Mr. Lyon started at Goldman in 1990 and has spent much of his time in the investment bank's private equity advisory business. In addition to his work at Goldman Sachs, he has been on the Board of Directors of Student Sponsor Partners. He received his BA summa cum laude in Classical Literature, Philosophy and Business Finance from the University of Notre Dame from 1986 to 1990 and M.B.A. from Harvard Business School from 1993 to 1995.
