Mr. Scott Javor serves as Managing Director of Corporate Finance & Restructuring - Los Angeles at FTI Consulting, Inc. Mr. Javor joined FTI Consulting from GE Capital, where he was part of the Leveraged Finance team and focused on the Media, Communications, and Entertainment sectors. In this capacity, he underwrote, managed and worked out debt and equity investments. Mr. Javor underwrote and closed senior secured debt transactions totaling almost $1 billion of commitments in wireline, cable, B2B, and publishing. He negotiated and executed financial restructurings in the telecom and technology industries. Mr. Javor structured and negotiated securities, term sheets and loan documents directly with companies, lawyers, advisors and other lenders. He led on-site due diligence and developed new strategic business opportunities. Mr. Javor worked on deals for a variety of companies, including Cavalier; FairPoint; Getty Images; ITC^Deltacom; Insight Cable; Otelco; Penton Media; Thomas Nelson; Otelco; and VNU, now known as The Nielsen Company. Prior to becoming part of the Leveraged Finance team, Mr. Javor was a member of GE's Corporate Audit staff, a leadership and financial training program. He audited financial statements and improved business processes for GE units in eight countries, including the implementation of new accounting standards across GE Capital. During his tenure, Mr. Javor earned his Black Belt in Six Sigma, a statistics-based methodology to improve processes and eliminate defects. Mr. Javor was also a strategic consultant in GE's motor vehicle leasing business. In this role, he analyzed, developed and maintained financial models to help customers analyze effects of leasing on their cash flow, balance sheets, income statements, financial ratios and budgets. He is a member of the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors. Mr. Javor holds an M.B.A. with a concentration in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. in economics from Yale University.
