Mr. Whatt Soon Ong, also known as Ronald, serves as the Managing Director of Morgan Stanley Investment Management Company. Mr. Ong has been the Chief Executive Officer of Southeast Asia at Morgan Stanley since May 2004 and also serves as Head of its Singapore office with responsibility for its business in ASEAN. Previously, he worked at Credit Suisse First Boston and Deutsche Bank AG before rejoining Morgan Stanley in 1998. Prior to that, Mr. Ong worked at Chemical Banking Corp. in 1979. He has been Chairman of Southeast Asia at Morgan Stanley since November 2008. He has been a Director at NTUC Fairprice Co-operative Limited since June 15, 2015. He serves as a Director of Morgan Stanley Investment Management Company. Mr. Ong has over 30 years extensive experience as a banker and in mergers and acquisitions and capital markets, with extensive client relationships in Singapore and South East Asia. He is also a Member of the Board of the Association Internationale des ??tudiants En Sciences ??conomiques et Commerciales (AIESEC Singapore). He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Lee Kong Chian School of Business of Singapore Management Univeristy and of the Sim Kee Boon Institute for Financial Economics of Singapore Management University. Mr. Ong is a council member of the Securities Industry Council of Monetary Authority of Singapore. He was a Naval Officer with the Republic of Singapore Navy. Mr. Ong has earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Singapore in 1980.
