More transparency about salary ranges, distribution, performance. Raises, bonuses, equity compensation are mostly subjective and at the discretion of managers. No connection to transparent quarterly OKRs, so you're at the mercy of your leaderships' fleeting opinion of you. Leads to bad behaviours.
Company is so risk averse and fear driven, especially by audit (internal or external). This is to the point where it limits innovation, because any modernization requires layers of fighting through fear uncertainty or doubt (FUD) to make a tiny bit of progress.
In areas where a process could be improved, automated, or modernized, middle managers are often incentivized to grow their team or budget, regardless of impact to the bottom line. This has led to highly inefficient outcomes, hidden in the costs of doing business, and limits innovation going forward.
