I prefer do not discuss payment with coworkers
None of their business what my compensation is.
I never fear talking to coworkers about compensation.
Never a productive conversation because it can only serve to hurt one of us.
Depends on the coworker but normally I'm comfortable
It’s a subject that shouldn’t be discussed
I keep it to myself. I don’t want to make anyone upset or feel shortchanged.
It depends on my relationship with the particular employee
My cominsation is part of a much bigger picture. I don’t see how it relates to my coworkers
It shouldn't be discussed. Maybe the compensation 'package' but certainly not salaries.
I feel like am gaining because i get more information.
In an ideal world, you would trust your employer to pay you and your coworkers appropriately and fairly. I realize that it doesn’t happen that way. The reality is that discussing compensation with your coworkers can cause hurt feelings, which can lead to problems within your team. So in my opinion, it never does any good to discuss these matters with your coworkers.
It's a terrible idea. Never goes well.
Depends if comp is published or not.
If we're at lunch or having a private conversation I will approach compensation. However, discussing with your peers can also cause issues with the relationship if you feel you are not being given the same compensation for similar work.
