I tend to be a little impatient and this can be a hindrance especially with long term goals.

That I will not stomach a company that does not value or respect me as a person or my contributions if they are reasonably valuable and demonstrate meeting business requirements.

This isn't the time to talk about how "I'm just too much of a perfectionist" or "sometimes I work too hard", nor is it the time to talk about how bad you are at time-management or dating. This is the time to talk about which of the required qualifications you are weakest in and how you hope to get better at it.

We have all experienced failures, so the answer is how you learn from those experiences. Be genuine about weaknesses that have contributed to a failure you've experienced and what you have learned. It's also helpful to share where you are in the process of addressing your weaknesses (your game plan, so to speak). Be genuine above all...the fastest way to get a hard eye roll is to give an answer like, "my perfectionism" even if you believe that is the case. A better answer would be "I hold on to projects too long before collaborating" because isn't that the true weakness there? Then follow up with how you came to be aware of this and that aforementioned game plan.

Honestly, with steps you’ve taken towards improvement. For instance, I’m an introvert which sometimes comes across as too direct or cold. Over the past several years I’ve taken X classes in communication and I make sure to greet people warmly at the start of every conversation or meeting.

Instead of weaknesses, refer to them as opportunities for growth, meaning items you are always working on, for instance "communication skills" unless you are a paid public speaker or writer everyone can work on communication skills. Highlighting it this way displays self awareness and the fact that you are opening to learning and developing in a company

This question I usually respond with something that I know needs improvement, and I pick something I feel the position I am applying for can help strengthen (i.e. if I am applying for cashier maybe biggest weakness is strengthening my customer service skills).

Answer truthfully. We all have weaknesses and if you don't have an answer, it can come off as either a) you have not grown enough in your craft or b) you're trying too hard to be perfect.

Make it something technical that people can get better at.

Always make your weakness something that could be turned into a strength or that shows how you have overcome and grown from it.
