    If your manager is toxic and is best friends with the owners wife and are always plotting against you, keep notes, dates, times that things are said to you. Or go a step further and record.

    Don't take anything or anyone for granted! Be grateful and treat everyone with respect. Give people a chance, don't count someone out before they have been pressure tested! Remember that people that talk bad about others in your presence probably talk bad about you in your absence!
