    When you realize that no matter how hard you work & what you do or say, you didn't kiss the right ass, cover for the right people & ignore the hate from others, so you are going to be treated badly, threatened & attacked.

    When you no longer feel you are able to contribute to the companies goal.

    Ideally, when you have another job lined up. The only exception is if the your company's environment is toxic enough to affect your mental health. Then you should decompress before pursuing new opportunities. The effects of a toxic, mental health damaging work place will show thorough in your new interviews.
