When you realize that no matter how hard you work & what you do or say, you didn't kiss the right ass, cover for the right people & ignore the hate from others, so you are going to be treated badly, threatened & attacked.
When you no longer feel you are able to contribute to the companies goal.
Ideally, when you have another job lined up. The only exception is if the your company's environment is toxic enough to affect your mental health. Then you should decompress before pursuing new opportunities. The effects of a toxic, mental health damaging work place will show thorough in your new interviews.
When work performance suffers due internal office interaction
When you know the axe is going to fall!
When you feel your presence does not add any value to the company
When everything is going very, very well and you are on good terms with everyone, including, most importantly, your boss.
When they no longer have your best interest, ability to improve yourself through education, community and business.
When you feel that you aren't going anywhere with the company or that the job is literally bringing you down. I knew when it was time with my last job. I was miserable every day when I used to be happy there.
When you stop seeing a path forward and/or you no longer believe in the company vision.
