You should ask for a promotion if you meet the qualifications for the position.
When your the only one that can do the job. When your that person they go to.
Your boss gets "Me too-ed". Your boss leaves for an "extra" acting position on "Blue Bloods". Your boss starts slurring his words and the left side of his face droops after lunch.
Being asked to complete more and more duties and especially if the department has vacant staff positions over extended periods of time
Longevity, progress, supportive
When you feel and know you have someone trained to do your job. You need to be able to be replaced by someone and not be an empty hole in the company.
Taking on more responsibility
When roughly 20% of your responsibilities are reach projects or duties
when responsibilities change or added.
You've done great work and there is an opportunity for you to fill a greater need.
1) If you’re doing your bosses work and / or assigned tasks that are generally performed at a higher level than yours. 2) If you obtain a higher college degree, or complete a vocational school program, or become certified in your field, since joining the company.
I wish I knew. Same company title for 9 years.
